MASAMOR was borne out of necessity. Switzerland now has its own nixtamal tortilleria and molino!

That means that fresh nixtamal is ground using a volcanic stone. Other inferior products are made using dry corn flour, gelling agents and preservatives. At MASAMOR, our tortillas and other nixtamal corn products consist of only 4 ingredients: organic corn, water, sea salt... And mucho amor!

What is nixtamal?

The secret behind real flavour

Nixtamal is corn that has been cooked slowly using lime. Organic dried corn is cooked briefly with lime and then allowed to steep overnight. This softens the kernel, releases the hull and increases the nutritional value of the corn.

What makes us different?

Corn transformed with tradition

The difference is in the flavor and the texture. MASAMOR tortillas are soft and pliable with a rich corn flavor you can only get from fresh nixtamal. Other tortillas are flavorless, dry, crumbly. They break when folded and can't hold up to wet ingredients.

We also offer loose-pack options for local restaurants. These are not vacuum packed and must be consumed within 2 weeks max. They offer numerous advantages, such as less packaging, easier to open, no need to separate and they retain their shape better!
